PARAGARD IUD LAWSUIT WHITEPAPER

What Is Paragard?
ParaGard is a long-term, hormone-free intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) that is used to prevent pregnancy for up to ten years. It is a T-shaped device made primarily of plastic and copper that is placed into a woman’s uterus during an office visit.
Paragard Complications:
When the ParaGard is removed or removal of the IUD is attempted, there can be complications where the IUD breaks apart. If the IUD breaks apart it can result in multiple procedures to remove all parts of the IUD as some parts can get “stuck” in Uterus.
